Chef Zatil

Siang toklah pertama kali kamek kluar rumah sejak Red Alert di Bandar Kuching diisytihar. Rupa gaya kedak sekda banjey gik rah pasar nun. Alhamdulillah, the flood has eased in Kuching. I'm not too sure about the other parts of Sarawak though. Harap-haraplah rah Serian ngan tempat-tempat lain di Sarawak dah okey juaklah. Sian juak ngan sidak...abis dak pirin Astro, dah uras nok lom diangkut trak sampah, dak reta benda rumah terapong-apong atas aek. Sian juak tedah. Even though there will be a king tide (measured 10.8m at its peak this evening), I hope all will be well. Rain is a blessing yes, but too much of a good thing is not good.

Well now, I'm writing today not to discuss about the rain and the flood in Sarawak. What brought me here is my new recipe! Two days back I made a cake that caused such a huge stir in my family. It was a big hit! Okay, okay maybe I exaggerate that part a bit... Tapi nang blalak juak mak ngan bapak mek ngan kek ya. Berebut-rebut gik sidak. Hehe. So I decided to share-share a bit lah the recipe with you. 'Tis a very easy recipe to do, even a barely-beginner cook can whip this up in no time. No biggie!

CHOC CHIP BANANA CAKE

INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup castor sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons baking soda (sik pasti juak dengan sukatan tepat...I just eyeballed)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (preferably, use sea salt)
- 1 cup mashed bananas (paling nyaman mun pakei pisang otel a.k.a. pisang emas dibawa belayar. Sebabnya pisang jenis tok lemak manis)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk (for a healthy option, substitute this with non-fat milk/soy milk)
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips (abis cip coklet ditaboh kamek ria, jadi untuk pilihan alternatif, I chopped a handful or more of semi-sweet chocolate bar to replace the choc chips)

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour your baking pan (9x13 or 8x8).
2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, combine mashed bananas, egg, melted butter and milk.
4. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture until blended. Stir baby stir! BUT, be careful not to over mix! (Boh tak orang ngegeh nak gaol bahan ya sampe sejam duak indah)
5. Stir in chocolate chips (you could add in chopped dried fruits if you want, but the cake won't taste as good without the choc bits in it)
6. Tuang adunan dalam acuan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.
7. Let cool on a rack before serving.
8. Selamat menaboh kek!

Thanks for your concern :) tapi rumah Zatil okey, Alhamdulillah, takde banjer. Cuma kat kawasan lain je yang kena.

Aok, coba kitak polah kek ya...ne tauk nyaman agik dipolah kitak dari nok dipolah kamek. Hehe.
